Rylee Thomas is used to being in control. But she’s about to meet the one man that just might make her enjoy losing it…

I am the exception to the rule.

In a world full of willing women, I’m a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He’s the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track.

Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline.

I can’t give him what he wants and he can’t give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away?

Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

About the Author:

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author K. Bromberg is that reserved woman sitting in the corner who has you all fooled about the wild child inside of her—the one she lets out every time her fingertips touch the computer keyboard.

K. lives in Southern California with her husband and three children. When she needs a break from the daily chaos of her life, you can most likely find her on the treadmill or with Kindle in hand, devouring the pages of a good, saucy book.

On a whim, K. Bromberg decided to try her hand at this writing thing. Her debut novels, Driven, Fueled, and Crashed of The Driven Trilogy were well received and went on to become multi-platform bestsellers as well as landing on the New York Times and USA Today lists. Her other works include a short story, UnRaveled, and a companion piece to The Driven Trilogy titled Raced. She is currently working on three stand alone Driven novels, Slow Burn, Sweet Ache, and Hard Beat. She also plans to release a novel addressing the 10 year gap at the ending of Crashed in late fall 2015

My Review: Four Hearts rating

I am a tremendous fan of K. Bromberg, and had already read Driven before this. As a kind of ‘celebration’ of her upcoming book Slow Burn, I decided to re-read it and give it a fresh review. The Driven series is still technically ongoing, since she has two books that I know of that are still correlating with the story line. There are 4 books that are all about Rylee and Colton, and you just can’t get enough of them!

Bromberg has this way of getting you lost in the story-line; sucked into this dream-like world of race cars, hot bad-boys, and even hotter sex. This book isn’t just the usual erotic, sex-every-two-pages nonsense, but delves deeper into the relationship of Rylee and Colton; Their past, their present, and what all of that is going to mean for their future.

Let’s face it, you’re not a spend the night type of guy, and I’m not a one-night stand type of girl                       -K.Bromberg, Driven

Rylee is a very serious girl, who’s entire life is revolved around her work and how she can help others, whereas Colton is a very easy-going, free-spirited man. Their perspective on being free makes them clash, in some very hot and sensual ways. The chemistry between the two of them is undeniable, and Bromberg makes you feel everything that Rylee feels. She drags this imagery out of the reader, and puts you in Rylee’s place.

“You know that deep down, a tiny part of that proper, respectable woman you are, wants to visit that reckless, sexy, uninhibited place inside you that’s begging to get out. A place I can undoubtedly help you find.” -K Bromberg, Driven

Colton is pure, irrefutable sex on two legs. But he’s also so much more than that. Some novels don’t capture the depth of characters, but something about Colton just has you entranced from the first meeting. He’s confident, sexy, and mysterious (sound like a cliche?), but he gives you so much more as a character. You pity him, and love him, and want to rip him out of the pages and have a life-size Colton laying next to you in bed to keep you warm at night. He’s possessive, he’s caring, and deep down there’s such an immense vulnerability unusual to such a strong character.

I cried with this book. I became furious at this book. I panted at Colton (Yes…like a female dog in heat).

I recommend this read, because it is above and beyond what a reader would expect. It’s not just a ‘lets sit down and read about sex’ type of book. It’s got much more depth than that. But heck…if you just want to read about sex pick it up anyways *wink* because Colton and Rylee…rawr!
