Synopsis: Kira MacDonald is in trouble. Plagued by false visions and erotic dreams of a man she’s never met, she fears losing both her psychic powers and her sanity. The cure? Finding and bonding with her mate. The stubborn red-haired warrior might not want one, but fate has other plans, plans that include her rescuing Lucas Gunn. As the Guardian of his shapeshifting clan, Lucas Gunn lived a quiet, solitary life until he was kidnapped, examined, and tortured. Now imprisoned, his only tie to the outside world is the memory of his dreams and the passionate woman who appears in them. He thought she was nothing more than a vision. Then she came for him.
About the Author: After growing up in the South and dividing my time between Florida and North Carolina, I decided that 2012 would be my year for change. I rented out my house on the East Coast and convinced my family to join me for a wacky trip across the country. Now I write my romance books from a small island in the Pacific Northwest while contemplating our next home renovation project on the fixer upper we bought.
When not writing, I’m likely to be found with my nose in a book or sitting in a darkened theater watching the latest blockbuster movie. Unless it’s not raining, then I guarantee I’ll be outside soaking up the sun or exploring one of the many nearby forests.
Honestly, I’m a little flabbergasted after reading this book. I keep looking at my computer and thinking, what did I just read?
I don’t normally give out horrible reviews. I always believe that there is some kind of redeeming factor in the story, yet I couldn’t really find one for Lucas.
Lucas is what I like to call a Pornuscript. Now I love a good dirty novel, but this one almost puts FSOG to shame on the amount of sex within such a short period of time.
There was little to no story-line, and what small amount there was really didn’t keep my interest. I almost had to force myself to finish it because I just could not attach myself to the characters. Kira is a very lackluster character and her motives weren’t very strong. One minute she’s like Oh no I can’t and the next she’s like Please, just fuck me. -____-
Even though there’s pages and pages of sex in the book, I felt absolutely no chemistry between Lucas and Kira. It was like….a porno. Speaking of sex *eye roll* It was as if someone took a list and put down every single type two people could have and wrote it in the novel. Oh…and let’s make it paranormal because you know…that’s popular right?
I’m honestly very surprised with the reviews this book has. It has a million plot-holes, random fight scenes that feel completely forced, characters that you can’t relate to, and almost no chemistry.
I guess if you want a book that’s almost entirely about sex, then this one could be it for you.
It’s for free right now (Which is why I put it on my kindle): LUCAS (Southern Shifters Book 1)
