This book has been sitting idle in my TBR list for sometime now. Why? *shrugs* Who knows. Little did I know that it was a masterpiece just waiting to be cracked open and be read. Well, obviously it’s good because Sherrilyn Kenyon has a big name out there in the PNR world! How did I not know this?
Let’s get on with the story…
Meet Amanda. Accountant. Youngest sister of a multitude of girls (I think it was 8?). Can you say Ouch for her mom? *shiver*. And most of those sisters have psychic powers of some sort, whether it be telekinesis or mind reading.
One day she’s just minding her own business when WHAM someone kidnaps her. She wakes up in a strange room to find herself handcuffed to a beautiful Adonis. A sexy-as-hell, muscular, blonde man named Kyrian.
He is everything that she wants, but also doesn’t want. She hates the paranormal world and is perfectly fine dating the technical guy in her office building. Safe. Practical. Nothing like the leather-clad delicacy in front of her.
Yet they find themselves in situations that make them stick together. And then it comes to the point where they can’t stay away.
This book is amazing. I can’t really give away too many details without ruining the book, but I was so enraptured with the characters, the story-line, and the sex, that I ended up reading it through the night. How can something as dark as vampires turn into such a beautiful story.
And the sex…oh man the sex. Holy hell *fans self*. Sherrilyn Kenyon did not disappoint in the chemistry between Kyrian and Amanda.
Apparently this series is huge. The whole series is not just the Dark-Hunters, but also the Were-hunters and Dream-Hunters all combined. There is a huge reading list on Kenyon’s website that tells you the reading order of each book. I guess I already jumped ahead by reading this one, but I don’t feel that I missed anything.
If you’d like to purchase this book, please do! You also may want to check out her website for the reading order.
